minkhollow: (two generations of win)
So there's a thing going around (probably on its way to becoming a meme) that's talking about characters you RP(ed). And it looks fun, so I'm gonna give it a whirl.
let's see what groups we get here... )
...I am amused that most of those were groups of four.
minkhollow: (do not go gentle)
...So Angel's a one-game character, now.
(Dammit. Not gonna cry. I'm not.)
minkhollow: (song and/or dance)
Meme before work, via [livejournal.com profile] allfireburns:
Post a list of all your roleplaying journal names and explain what the names mean, if anything.
roughly sorted by game they were created for, and mainly the active ones )
minkhollow: (holy wood magic)
Meme time, gacked from everyone at this point:
PICK ONE OF MY CHARACTERS AND I WILL TELL YOU:
→ why I decided to play this character
→ my favorite scene or bit of interaction concerning this character to date
→ my favorite original aspect about this character (world-building for ocs or head-canon for fcs)
→ the last thing they did "off screen"
→ what their last words would be if they died tomorrow
→ what the next thing I'm doing for them is (narrative, post, shelving, whatever)

BONUS ROUND:
» I will tell you what character of yours I'd like to play mine against
» you may ask me a free question ♥

This includes the original characters who've floated around MM. I've answered for Moist and Cata over here.
minkhollow: (i'll melt the damn snow)
So, today is a day of awesome:
*Vermont! GO VERMONT! (And DC!)
*I got the third of my Sweet Charity bids back yesterday, with the instructions 'Iron Man gen, please.' Less than 24 hours and one adapted [livejournal.com profile] outsideinn plotline later, I have a finished fic.
*Doc! This is something I've been looking forward to since I made the relevant app, so I'm glad he resurfaced.
*OH AND I HAVE A JOB! I poked at Staples yesterday, to follow up on last week's interview, and the manager wondered aloud why they hadn't called me back yet; that happened... about 15 minutes ago. So as of Friday I WILL BE GETTING PAID TO DO SOMETHING. FOR THE FIRST TIME IN ELEVEN MONTHS.
That is pretty damn awesome, I feel.
*Alphabet meme: All tagged up and 11 letters to go.

Re: icon, apparently it's my turn to make WTF faces at the weather. ::makes WTF faces at the weather, it is APRIL, we were doing YARDWORK on Sunday...::

Meme time! From Lexie:
Association Meme: Comment to this post and I will give you 5 subjects/things I associate you with. Then post this in your LJ and elaborate on the subjects given.
I don't know how long-winded this will get, so. )
In other news, Dr. Horrible is excellent driving music, if you don't mind hearing the same thing several times due to its shortness. Which I don't, as it is fun times!
minkhollow: (all designed to blow our minds)
The good RP karma continues, with Milliways and the inn.
Otherwise... not much of note going on.
minkhollow: view from below a copper birch at Mount Holyoke (those snow... mammals... can be vicious)
oof. Heating pads are proof that God loves us and wants us to be happy. (Apologies to Ben Franklin, but srsly.)
Meanwhile, a meme, courtesy of [livejournal.com profile] sotto_voice:
Comment on this post, and I will choose seven interests from your profile and ask you to explain what they mean, and why you are interested in them. Post this along with your answers in your journal so that others can play.
in a nutshell: RP hijinks and yummy dessert )
Also, for great eventual PMOG fun: Link me to your LJ or IJ panfandom games! I know Milliways and the inn, obviously - and also MM, now I think of it.
minkhollow: (not to be taken away)
I'm having one of those moments where I feel like I haven't been productive, academically speaking, even though I've probably written enough to finish off my assignment for the noveling class for Monday. (That will probably end up on [livejournal.com profile] mapsarecheating, once I have it all typed.) It's the fact that I'm not writing a paper or reading from textbooks, I think.
Speaking of writing journals... I feel like [livejournal.com profile] sto_helit_lace has long since outgrown its name. Especially now that I'm only writing Disc stuff occasionally. But I don't want to get a rename token without a good alternative in mind, so - suggestions?
listy time )
Also speaking of journals I write in, I think the paper!journal thing is serving me well.
minkhollow: Sputnik: In Soviet Russia, space races YOU! (space races you!)
I think the expansion pack of my short story is finally done. Now all I have to do is overcome the rest of the inertia and... you know, actually get things done.
Meanwhile: Ah, meta!crack, it's been far too long. I offer a recounting of my wacky hijinks therein, as that is what one does with meta!crack.
Also: Last week's Boston trip was made of Win. I may be bothered to do a full recap here one of these days. (It's in the paper!journal, meanwhile.)
ETA: This is not, it seems, a good year to be a young actor.
minkhollow: (it's all about the information)
Returning to this, since I think I've finally figured out the last verse. This is still all [livejournal.com profile] gehayi's fault, by the way.
The Wizards Who Don't Do Anything )

*[livejournal.com profile] jenerator! The Hogswatch stuff got here yesterday. AWESOME. Thanks!
(For those who haven't heard yet, I now have a Death of Rats button, a Death bumper sticker, and a shirt what says 'fabricati diem, pvnc.')
*My brain wants to add this to my Sneakers soundtrack. I might have to do up an unofficial version or something, since I got chronologically picky with that one, but at the same time... it just works.
*Speaking of Andrew Bird, I'm half tempted to call the journal I'm starting with for [livejournal.com profile] embodiment 'taking all our myths to the bank.' Has a nice ring to it.
*Note to self: dig up plot-related font color tags.
minkhollow: (i do not type with my hands)
Meme-gacking (from lots of people) before I go shower:
If you had me under your command and could make me write anything, regardless of whether or not I know the fandom or if anybody even writes fic in that fandom and no matter how crack-addled it might be, what would you love to see me write? [eta] I'm not actually going to write any of these (unless something strikes me), but I am curious. [/eta]
And while I'm at it I might end up cleaning off the sink counter because... ew.
ALSO. [livejournal.com profile] starletfallen. PING ME WHEN I'M ON LATER? (I have a possible plottish thought thinger what you might be interested in.)
minkhollow: view from below a copper birch at Mount Holyoke (rpage: brains. yes they're edible.)
Gather all your RP journals, list the characters and any AU versions you RP. Open the post to the public so even lurkers can ask the muses questions. Respond with that RP account.
ye olde list )
And to make this more interesting, if you have any questions for me about the headvoices, ask them, too.
::insert obligatory finals-related Jedi Mind Trick here::
minkhollow: (all right. tahiti!)
Dear brain:
You're a very nice brain, on the whole. And I can even see where the current idea is coming from. But... no. You can't do that app. No.
You'd be too tempted to take it AU (which just doesn't suit), you don't have a strong headvoice, and you'd have to bounce off two of your extant headvoices, with the ideas that are brewing. That's what fic is for.
In conclusion: Stick with the app that's in the works. Because... no.
Love, me.
minkhollow: Robert Redford pointing, from Sneakers (sometimes i don't understand myself)
Methinks it's time for a new list.
and so, one shall happen. )
So yeah. Thanks to those who've weighed in on the grad school indecision so far; I'm thinking what might end up happening is I'll apply to my short list and see how I feel from there. (And my short list doesn't want answers until February, so it'll give me something to do over J-term! XD)
Also, I think I need to make a new Hogswatch sweatshirt. My current model was too big in the first place, but now it's just ridiculous. Something to attend to over break, I guess.
minkhollow: Sputnik: In Soviet Russia, space races YOU! (space races you!)
Today's Old Norse update: Ah, and now we have the foot fetish!
Also, since I keep forgetting to say: Hey [livejournal.com profile] falxumbra? You're a verb! Not just any verb, either, you're 'to be.' Exciting!
In other news, sometimes plots attack, and being stern at them never helps matters. (Though this, unlike the one most of the previous sentence arose from, does not have me scared. XD)
minkhollow: Robert Redford pointing, from Sneakers (sometimes i don't understand myself)
The campus network seems in the habit of... working for a while, and then spontaneously imploding. This does not so much make for fun times.
The classes so far: Queer Theory is going to be massively entertaining (and with any luck I can talk people into discussing To Wong Foo), Old Norse might kick my ass but that's where studying adventures with [livejournal.com profile] day_pirate will kick in, Light Verse shall be v. entertaining (ALSO SONDHEIM), and 20th-Century China... will kick my ass, if I stick with it, but looks pretty damn cool. Also I could write about the Tibet business, which in light of the Chinese government wanting to regulate reincarnation... well, it's a topic I could go on with for years, but a semester will do.
Tonight I am decorating my door. Tomorrow I am putting things on the walls.
Also? The games I'm in win on occasion. (Iiiii need to get on the car keys stick, speaking of.)
