Chair-tackling update: Somebody got HURT in that madhouse. And she was on crutches already, so that just makes this even more... argh.
However. Mom came home from school today and said the teachers/admin are plotting nefarious revenge, if they can just get the names of those involved. The suggestion she brought home was to make them sit in the bleachers next year (bwahaha!). I figure we need a new Tarp Team, if this is how they treat their equipment. (Well, not their equipment, but you get the idea.)
Really really REALLY ought to be working on Religion Paper of DOOM. Which is, of course, why I am here, doing this. Doing school work makes sense, so why bother?
Finished Coraline. Creepy-but-good. Review of The Amazing Maurice et cetera later. Prolly after some of said religion work.
[livejournal.com profile] puddingcat - You're actually using that plot bunny! NOt surprising as such, no, but once I realized what it was I busted out laughing. This is gonna be interesting, I can tell. (It's an RPG thing; all will be revealed, I think. Ought to throw something up there later. Still haven't read SARS research...)
Oh, and while I was updating things in Quoteage! last night, I fixed the link on my [livejournal.com profile] tammaiya-quote. So now people can get to the story. *yaaay*

Did you hear Lauren was stupid?
She and her boyfriend apparently got arrested for having pot. Seems sitting outside Taco Bell at three in the morning wasn't such a good plan.
I don't know the rest of it, if there is anything. (Oh, and she destroyed her car's engine a few weeks ago. Don't think anyone knows how, but she did.)
And if anyone else is scratching their heads... it's a family thing.

I loved Coraline. It's the sort of book I would have loved to read as a child, and I think it says a lot about Gaiman's writing ability that I can find the book appealing as hell even though I'm well out of childhood. Those button eyes...creepy. And I love the way he portrays cats. :)

Haven't read The Amazing Maurice yet, because hardbacks are damn expensive. Is it in paperback yet? *sigh* It would be nice to spend all my money on books, but unfortunately, things like food get in the way. Stupid food. *kicks*

Yeah, actually I've known about the whole car incident for a while, though the thing about Lauren being less than bright I've known for much longer. I think it was Greg? that told me his theory on how she blew the engine. Apparently, she really wanted a BMW that Dave couldn't afford, and she she set out to do something that would get rid of the car she had so that she could have a better one [since she's only interested in the appearance anyway]. Greg said she constantly drove it in only 1st gear, which is what blew the engine. Now she has a Corrolla, which is closer to what she wanted than the Buick.

You know that the strange thing is? I'm buying that Buick off of Dave in a couple of weeks, maybe less. I'm going to have to fork out about 1 k for the engine, but Dave said that even now it runs better than the car she has. She when her car breaks down because it's unreliable, I'll probably be making my roadtrip down to Florida in mine.

Hey, her tough luck.

For the longest time, she was the one of the 'cousins', as we're dubbed by the adults, that I could talk the most to. But then we because completely different people and our lives took us down different paths, ones that were in the complete opposite direction of the other. With that and the fact that I hardly ever see her, I almost can't talk to her anymore. I try, but it just doesn't happen.

Some things just turn out that way, whether we want them to or not.
