So Pottermore thinks I'm a Hufflepuff.
Not so much one that I'd pegged for myself (I'm more of a Slytherin with delusions of being a Ravenclaw), but... it's not as WTF as some people've said their sortings are. I mean, I still think the test is way too short - I've taken some easy-to-rig fan-made sorting quizzes that are longer, back when that was a thing I did - but if you look at this alongside my RP roster, it actually makes a lot of sense to say 'puff.
Anyway. The site itself is almost prohibitively slow on Hex (all that Flash doesn't sit well with 2004 computer guts, it seems), but it's still pretty cool. I'm EchoFeather99 if anyone wants to add me - just, you know, try to let me know who you are. XD (And while there's no slot for it I have determined that my avatar!kitty's name is Piewacket.)

Evanna Lynch got pegged as a Gryffindor. I'd say that the site has some issues with its sorting decisions. I've decided to bypass the early signups and wait for it to fully open in hopes that the servers will have been upgraded to scale for the stress test the advance members put on them.

The servers seem fine, as far as I can tell. It's just that Hex is seven years old and gets fussy when I try to run something as Flash-intensive as Pottermore. (It gums up a lot on Youtube and LJ pages full of gifs as well.)
Yeah, a lot of people have complained about where they got sorted. I think the big thing is that the test is too short to work well on the age bracket poking at Pottermore the hardest. Seven questions might be enough to get to the heart of an eleven-year-old, but rumor has it JKR wrote 60 questions for this thing; I was expecting to be asked 15 or 20. The wand thing is also 7 questions, but I think that one actually gets to the heart of things a lot better than the sorting quiz.

It will show up eventually! Someday. Before October, anyway. Mine felt like it took ages.
I might have to send you a friend request then! (Apparently you can do that before the other person's in, as I had one waiting for me. So.) As for the sorting, it apparently very rarely pegs people as what they think they are, but in my case I think it might've actually been right.
(I would've been one of the most 'what is this I don't even' Gryffindors ever, though.)

Yeah, I like the wand test a lot more than the sorting test; it works well with the seven-question format. And while parts of the wand wood description got me all headscratchy, the last line actually works quite well for me.
I'll stand by the fact that I think the sorting test needs to be longer. Even if on reflection, I think it pegged me better than I knew. XD
