So
katmaxwell gave me some icons to explain. That shall follow; if anyone wants to hear about more, comment with them. Conversely, if you want me to ask about your icons, just comment. XD

This is a
discworld_rpg icon, that I mostly use these days when going 'OH GOD I MISS THIS GAME' at other people who were in it. The joke had something to do with Tomjon of Wyrd Sisters and a fic that
yakalskovich wrote. Also, I just don't want to get rid of the icon.

This is from Steven Banks Home Entertainment Center, as is the icon I'm using, the Short Attention Span Theatre one, and the text of 'phoebe's song.' Really, the only explanation is to watch it (doing so will also explain a lot about me, as it's been part of the background noise of my life since I was three); the whole thing's an hour, but relevant to the Elvis icon is... the second part, I think.

The line's from a play I was in in high school. One of the teachers wrote it, and his working title was 'Aquaman Vs. Frank Sinatra' (those two being the voices in the main character's head). It was one of those things that was hilarious enough to (a) keep the script and (b) make icons of. I have a few others with lines from the play.
Little else to report, other than I hope my midterms don't eat me alive, and my current music gave me a plot bunny like you wouldn't believe over the weekend.

Date: 2008-03-12 01:32 am (UTC)First one is from Doctor Who. In one episode, there's this group, in the icon, called The Appearance of the Repeated Meme.
...Thus, "Meme" sheep.
The second is a reference to the musical Chess. Because there are SO MANY VERSIONS of the damn thing, and NONE OF THEM entirely make sense.
And... oh, Tim. Tim Howar. Who played Roger in RENT for quite a while, 2006-2007. When he'd sing "looking for romance" in Another Day, he'd do that. And we got a video of it. And Aubrey made an icon.

3. Angel's sleeve from the beginning of Rent. The pink triangle is the Nazi symbol for a homosexual during the Holocaust. The text is from a quote of a survivor: It is for the dead and for the living that we must bear witness. I'm bearing witness to those who have suffered because of who they love.

Date: 2008-03-12 06:08 pm (UTC)The second one is puppet!Angel, from the Angel episode "Smiley Time". He really does not look amused about being turned into a puppet.
The third is one of the hills in San Francisco, the city of my heart. The picture was originally in color, but I changed it to sepia, because I liked the old look it gives it.
