from now on, that's all I wanna do

We finally got the Jelly Pudding Show people to play Mom's long-standing request. (I called, told them it's Mother's Day besides being her birthday Wednesday, and she hadn't heard it in 20 years.) Good song, that one. 'S what today's Name That Tune is from.
Everything old is out of the kitchen except for the fridge. And some of the new floor is down! ::falls over dead:: But after my shower I broke out the crayons - that part is Ji's fault entirely - and now have a guided tour of the kitchen for y'all. (Big pictures.)

That skinny cabinet on the left (by the doorway) was the in-kitchen pantry. Bloody heavy cabinet, at that. Fake bricks on the wall behind the fridge, little cubby-hole thingies on either side of the sink (that's the silver blob in the middle of the counter area), overconstruction like you wouldn't believe.

The box outlined in brown is a cut-away of the counter from the last drawing (or something like that). Table, funky brick window-seat thing (that's my swingset out the window), cabinet with bricks around. More overconstruction like you wouldn't believe. Also, bug-ugly green linoleum, which is now ALL GONE HUZZAH! (There was white linoleum down when we bought the house, and then the dogs ate it.)
Couldn't work the sliding door onto the porch into this drawing. But that's okay, it's in the during photo.

Apparent black hole = dishwasher. That's a corkboard behind the microwave. Venthood of DOOM looming over the two stoves and grill (electric stove on the left, gas stove on the right, grill is also gas). The cabinet all the way to the right was also right next to the doorway. Really greasy area of the kitchen - smelled like food when Dad was cutting the countertop up. Cue the overconstruction line yet again.

I left the fridge and the sink plumbing out of the drawing, but oh well. Also could have put the new floor in. The sliding door wot was previously mentioned is the kinda rectangular thingy in the back right.
Didn't do the walls justice, either. There's at least fifteen different colors up there - stains, grease, steel that's still up from the venthood of DOOM, glue from the brick stuff, you name it. There's all manner of holes in it too.

Date: 2004-05-09 08:36 pm (UTC)I also forgot the ceiling fan (should be over the table in the second one). And the soffets - just insert these big wooden beam thingies around the top of the first three pictures. (They're still up, I just don't know how to fit them into the during shot the way I drew it.)
