Memphis trip was fun. Got my fill of Elvis for... oh, the next year or so. Hard Rock Cafe was coolness, especially the stairwell theme (all manner of '60s stuff, and let's just say I know Pete Townshend's handiwork when I see it). Also, note to self: See if Todd Rundgren is touring again, and if so, whether Cincinnati/related environs is before or after the Memphis date.
Finished Maskerade on the first leg of the trip, and am now most of the way through The Last Continent. In regards to the former, it was indeed fun, and it gave me some shirt-decorating ideas. As for the latter... poor Ponder. That's all I have to say.

! Lords and Ladies is a REALLY good one. One of my favorite Discworld books, in fact. I think it's the elves that do it. But I can see where it's not exactly up your alley at the moment...
Somehow, you finding a new fandom doesn't surprise me in the least. But what's all this about a website? You mean to say you've got one of the things? < /sarcasm >

Ah, gee. Couldn't have anything to do with the fact I tend to collect fandoms like most people do stamps or pretty rocks, does it? And surprisingly, it's a fandom that isn't fantasy or Brittish. Amazing isn't it?

Generally, it doesn't matter what order you read the books in. If I'd tried reading them all in order, I may not have stuck around (the one that really hooked me is kind of late-middle, in terms of publishing dates). I think oddsocks has more or less been reading 'em in order, so you might want to ask her if it really helps.
The books sort of go in mini-arcs, for the most part - Lords and Ladies is from the middle-ish of the ones featuring the witches. And from what I've heard about Night Watch, you'd appreciate it more if you read the other Watch books first. (I've got a copy of that one, but haven't read it yet since I'm still missing a couple along the way.) But on the whole, any old order should suit you fine.
So if you get into this stuff, we'll soon take care of the British-fantasy fandom thing. XD
Also, LJ didn't mail you that because LJ is selectively evil.

So, skipping around in the series is okay, then? I usually try to read things in order, but in this case I think I'll make an exception. And if I get into this, then I'd understand your posts so much better, and would get to read your diskworld stuf. *nods*

You wouldn't be the first to do so, and I rather doubt you'd be the last. (And perhaps after you've read some I could tempt you in regards to the RPage? Maybe? 'Cause it is fun, and I'm still rather undecided about the Harry Potter RPing thing. Maybe we could trade, or something. XD)

Of course you could tempt me! Just as soon as I read the books, tempt away. Although, it's going to be odd introducing myself in a game where there's a character named after me. XDD And trading is good, too. And I don't get to play much lately at all, thanks to MSN not working for some people lately, and other people just not wanting to play. XP And playing with you would be fun!

Well, it would make sense, but it woud spoil a major part of the movie for you. And you would so not get the Neil/Todd love. Hell, it's been my favorite movie for eight years now, and I only recently got the Neil/Todd love! (I was sadly underexposed to slash when I was thirteen, yes.)

You need to rent the move, and not just because I wrote fic for it or for any potential pairings. You need to see it because it's a fucking wonderful movie and it's a classic. And you need to have tissues handy.

You have a very good point there. It'll also make my own random observations on the stuff a lot more interesting ('okay, which Morgan was I talking about?'). But it's fun times, and the last few new characters've been people picking up a second (or third, in extreme cases) - nothing wrong with that, of course, but new people are just as much fun. Occasional book-spoilers are highly likely, though past a certain point the characters develop lives of their own. I'm sure you know how it is. XD

*snerks* Yes, I can imagine how interesting that would make observations. Especially if you're in one of those states of mind we all get into from time to time where you're too tired/sick/busy/just plain out of it to really remember.

I knw what you mean. Good old 1UT (may it rest in peace) had to end because Ange and I were trying to pick up all the parts just so they would be played, because we weren't getting new players. And we needed the characters. So, yeah, new people are always a good thing. *nods*

Oh, we've got people who posted in ages - we sort of work around it. One of them, we don't even know who the RPer is (and sometimes I wonder whether there is one - but I think that's mainly my overactive imagination). It's not your average RPG, but then again, Discworld's not exactly your average planet.
And you're welcome. I don't know how it slipped your mind either, and you do have the excuse of a major construction site (no pun intended) on your side.
