Mom wants to go to church (::insert withheld commentary here::), and then there's a football game. Should be home 10:30 or so, that being 12:30-ish Celestina's time. Email me if you want to sort out RPage particulars, all right?
Don't know whether we're going to the RenFest tomorrow or not. [livejournal.com profile] brazenbells, I'll try to have a definite answer when I get back tonight.
So.

I'm infamous! I'm infamous! (It's an RPage thing.)
That's almost as good as the cool nickname I got out of the deal.
...Oh, and we shut out the other team re: football, but that's not important.
IALVATJ, yo.
minkhollow: (best of Queen fandom)
You know who you are. I didn't think RPage was meant to be depressing!
Anyway. Celestina, this may be of interest to you. It was on the radio this morning, and I noticed how much the words fit things as they were. Both compounded and slightly ruined by recent events, but still. Theme song for Adrian, perhaps.
Football game (away) tonight, so I've no idea whether I'll get on again till tomorrow (or very very late tonight). Wanted to get this said, though, and update Imp's journal while I had a chance. (Good job I've got 'puter access in the morning, I tell ya. Wouldn't've had a chance to say something otherwise.)

We lost. Badly (41 to 17). Like I said - classic. Get within five yards of a touchdown and LOSE THE BALL!
Hey, the band gets more trophies than the football team. Speaking of band, it's... very odd not having something to do at halftime besides talk to people. But talking to people was fun. Kari and I have a bunch of classes together, turns out. And Gaynor said he hasn't had a chance to listen to the Heywood CD yet. Will have to find out when he does.
Have another GO convert. We were talking about the book on the bus ride back. Fund times. And as soon as I get it back it's going to someone else, but that's all right. Speading the joy, one reader at a time.
Crossover icons have moved, for those keeping score at home.
That free Mountain Dew's gonna be murder on the sleep attempt. XD

So I had to read two books over the summer.
I put one of them on hold at the library before we left on vacation, and bought the other one in Williamsburg.
The hold still has not been called in. Since I have to have this book read by Tuesday, I wound up getting it at Borders.
There was a big Neil Gaiman display on the wall behind the register and they had the first Sandman and I would've been five bucks short anyway, but still. They one time they do have it, and I can't afford it.
Somebody in my English class owes me ten dollars, seeing as it is their fault I had to spend it. Make no mistake, I will get this money.
In other news, will be off being a band geek tomorrow night. Talked to some people at school today before practice started. Lend-out copy of GO will be back in my possession before we leave (probably), but I don't know for how long. Someone else might want to read it.

Just made two more. Will continue making crossover icons until Good Omens is a movie, or until I run out of ideas. Have not actually gone through the book like I said I would yet, but that’s becasue I’ve been busy.
And quick! Give me your favorite Aziraphale quotes! I’ll see if I can find a suitable movie still of Kenneth Branagh. XD
Not sure who should feature in the Them icon(s) that may come up, though. Any ideas?
In other news, we have a lawn. All of it. Just in time to start over. :b And I think the back of my neck is sunburnt - joy of joys.
Considered going to the back-to-school dance but that quite obviously fell through. Oh well. There's a football game Friday, I'll go be a band geek. (yay!)

that wossname that's going round )
Also. There's gonna be a DCI tournament in FAIRFIELD! (That will perhaps not mean anything to people who are not [livejournal.com profile] katmaxwell - basically, it's marching bands. Just not all high-schoolers.) One of the groups was out practicing while we were doing the track wossname this afternoon. People thought it was the high school band at first, but (a) I've never seen that many silver instruments in a high-school brass line, and (b) why would the high school band be starting now?
On a somewhat related note, backward marching (or in fact walking) is actually good exercise for your hamstrings. XD

hungry!

(Why yes, Sidra, I do find food necessary to my continued existence. Maybe for YOU it's unecessary...)
Have to go do noise-for-graduation thing. Notes to self: (1) make copy of "All Glory" music before returning as it's a cool song; (2) Fire BAD! (I know what it means); (3) Coraline is under random papers on computer desk, don't forget that and lose it.
[livejournal.com profile] tammayia updated Mere Illusion! And there's ARTWORK!! Much rejoicing, as can be observed. Will perhaps fill in gaps at [livejournal.com profile] foodless_diet later. Don't exactly have time to do so now.
Bad thing about two days of school left - everyone else has gone (even more) insane. Good thing about two days of school left - duh. Two days of school left.

This isn't that hard, is it?
Attempted arounf 5:30:
LJ wouldn't let me update last night - believe me, I tried. And tried. And tried. Five or six times, and the post just would not stick.
Highlights - I found a bunch of SARS info whilst looking up stuff for English during class yesterday, so I made use of my RPG-list email and sent it to myself. So if I can ever get into my main email to read the things, I'll be one well-informed RPGer. XD Also, calling all Bill and Ted fans: Yesterday was Miss of Arc's birthday! The actress, anyway, though it'd be funny if it was the saint's as well (which I doubt).
An amusing event in history: Teacher mentioned Jane Fonda and was trying to see if anyone had a clue as to who she is. I had a vague idea, but I'm not volunteering information for the guy. The girl who he called on... thought he'd said James Bond. She's a complete ditz, if you ask me (or perhaps "blur" in [livejournal.com profile] afrai terminology) - VERY easily confused, not to mention she gets on your nerves fast.
Maths exam hasn't killed me yet - clearly I did something right - but it'll have another chance tomorrow. Religion Paper of DOOM is up to two rather large paragraphs, and four footnotes. (Required, so not so much fun as the other sort.) Should go finish physio assignment that was actually due today, but I forgot about it last night. (Oops. Can't say I wasn't busy, though...)
Ideas for Discworld/GO crossover flaoting about head; might try and make time to re-start it. Speaking of Discworld, I've nearly finished The Amazing Maurice et cetera - will review when done.
And since then, the field commander is the person I figured on after seeing two of the three conduct. (Not so much a Nutter moment as I would've voted for her if we got a vote.) *yaaay*
Have de-stress CD out. Ought to help. Have finished previously mentioned physio, by the by.

*Survived band concert. (Primarily by not listening to the munchkins bit - Dad said they were worse than usual. Gah.) And when I went to the band room to get my flute two of the chrous girls were singing "If I Had a Million Dollars". Who'm I not to join in?
*Emailed those blessed schools about the National Merit stuff, so I ought to be joining [livejournal.com profile] cenire in Form = Done Land soon. (yay!)
*Reviewed a little bit for maths test tomorrow. Am in no way prepared, but it's a start.
*Archived [livejournal.com profile] twitchycat's latest fic for her. If you haven't read it yet, do so; Aziraphale kills plants. ^_^ Not on purpose, of course, but... still.
In other news, there was something in the newspaper about tongue slitting yesterday. First thought: Why the expletive would someone want to do that? Second thought: This must be one of Crowley's things. I mean, think about it! XD
Update from yesterday - "blessed" has little use as an alternate to swearing, but still works fairly well and has the plus of not falling under the heading of demerit-worthy words (should it come up). The best thing I've come up with so far is just saying "sod." 'Cause from there I go, "Also, dirt. And mud, and gravel, and potting soil." So I stop being (as) mad.

Our English teacher mentioned something about comic-relief questions on the exams - they're about things we've gone over, but the other choices are meant to *obviously* meant to not be right. So, how about a true-false question with five possible answers?
a) True
b) False
c) Maybe
d) 42
e) It's ineffable.
(The last one's a Good Omens joke, so don't panic if you're scratching your heads...)

Made some progress on Two Towers at the game. That would be because I don't give a flying swat what the basketball teams at school do. This is the first year since I've been there wherein the boys' team doesn't suck, I'll admit, but they still can't make me care.
And I apparently missed some high drama by not going to the game last night. All I'll say on it here, since none of you know the people involved anyway, is that the event is officially a Disturbance in the Force. That should tell you how bloody improbable it was...

Here's the update. )
Found an amusing list earlier concerning levels of band-geekitude and when you know you've hit them. A few that are true of myself or others in the band:
much band-geekiness herein )
minkhollow: view from below a copper birch at Mount Holyoke (Default)
Since I never made it into school to sign off for tonight's basketball game I had to show up. I'd say the team finally showed up toward the end of the second quarter... we wound up winning by four.
I don't like sitting in front of the other teams. (They do three games in one day - we only show up for the last one.) Great Southern pansies thought their players were infallible or something.
Either Christmas shopping or Miami game tomorrow after the band concert. Depends on who gets home first, I guess, but Dad's annoyed with his supervisors and isn't going to do anything extra tomorrow. He doesn't like working after dark... can't blame him, really. I'd say the same if I was working for the Post Office. (Which I plan to avoid at all costs. You should too, kids!)
Today was a belated celebration of Be Excellent To Each Other Day, since I was... indisposed on the fourth. Watched Excellent Adventure and had said movie's soundtrack out - still do, actually. You want catchy yet good music? Buy this. I find it amusing that my two most favorite songs are the background music for Bill and Ted's report.
Here's a theory for you: If Cat Stevens converted to Islam, the bulk of the religion DOES NOT believe in blowing yourself up just to kill a few enemies while you're at it. If they did would the guy who wrote "Peace Train" have joined up? I don't think so...
One can of Vanilla Coke contains forty-two calories. I *knew* I was drinking the right thing! XD
We finished Hamlet Wednesday. In the version we were watching... when the soldier-dudes were carrying Hamlet off to start funeral preps or something...
HE BLINKED!!! Bloody hilarious!
