There's a review on the dust cover for Carpe Jugulum that calls Pterry "the Dickens of the twentieth century." Far as I'm concerned, that gives Dickens far too much credit.
...gah. Headache returning with vengeance. Excitement scared it off for, oh, two minutes there.

No problem. Just beware though, having a paid account becomes addictive. My other lj, my daily one, well, I don't think that I've ever had it as a regular account. Then I bought one for this one, and I'm thinking of maybe splurging a bit and getting it for my writing ones. But those are maybes, since they aren't as important as the other two.

Anyways, have fun with it and use it to its fullest potential. It's a lot better than a regular account.

Dickens is shite. The only thing he's good at is making up names for his characters.

I mean, hello, did anyone actually ever read Tale of Two Cities? I have fanfiction better than that. gar. *kicks Dickens' corpse around*

Fortunately, we got out of reading Two Cities this year. Watched the end of the movie instead.* The short story was bad enough; doesn't look bad flipping through the lit book, but then you start reading and realize there are ten PAGES if this crap left. WITH the pictures.
Great Expectations... I didn't think the end was that bad. But you have to read the beginning and middle to get it, and both of those suck. (I failed the reading-check quiz on the beginning because I stopped two chapters early. All the questions were from the two chapters I didn't read except for three or so. :b)

*We were going to watch the whole movie, but there was something about we couldn't 'cause we weren't reading it. Whatever.
