mlle_skeetre's OMFG! icon - metaphorically, anyway::
CRYSTAL! YOU ROCK! THANK YOU!!!! (To the unknowing, I have two months paid!LJ. My hands are shaking over here.)
First things first, and that's the return of fedora!Orlando.
Anyway... anyway... came in here to say something... right.
Barry Manilow walked into a wall and broke his nose. ::snerk:: Am sure that was not all, but it's a start. (Gotta love the board - all the news that counts.)
There's a review on the dust cover for Carpe Jugulum that calls Pterry "the Dickens of the twentieth century." Far as I'm concerned, that gives Dickens far too much credit.
...gah. Headache returning with vengeance. Excitement scared it off for, oh, two minutes there.

Date: 2003-06-04 07:45 pm (UTC)Fortunately, we got out of reading Two Cities this year. Watched the end of the movie instead.* The short story was bad enough; doesn't look bad flipping through the lit book, but then you start reading and realize there are ten PAGES if this crap left. WITH the pictures.
Great Expectations... I didn't think the end was that bad. But you have to read the beginning and middle to get it, and both of those suck. (I failed the reading-check quiz on the beginning because I stopped two chapters early. All the questions were from the two chapters I didn't read except for three or so. :b)
*We were going to watch the whole movie, but there was something about we couldn't 'cause we weren't reading it. Whatever.
