So, today's lessons include 'so this is why people don't like driving in Boston' and 'I will forever and always fail at remembering tissues, even when I know I'm liable to need them.'

So [livejournal.com profile] quinby got here around 1:30 last night, and there was much rejoicing. *yaaay* And then we talked about stuff for a bit, and then there was sleep, and as I was on the verge of drifting off, sommat occurred to me about the movie's timeline.
Namely: Was there even the technology for Cyberland or whatever the hell it is Benny wanted to do to work in 1989? I'm thinking not.
Anyway. So this morning we headed off for Boston, figuring we'd see the movie in the afternoon and possibly hang around a bit, or possibly head back to MHC (ended up the latter). After at least half an hour of driving around in circles trying to find relatively cheap parking (and failing at parallel parking a couple times), we found a parking garage that suited our purposes.
And we were off, and there was meeting up with Jen (mun of various Star Wars Millicharacters, not any of my siblings by that name) and food, for the first time all day.

And then: MOVIE!
To explain the tissues comment from earlier, I knew I was gonna need something to wipe my eyes with, and people kept saying they cried, and I had a box of tissues in the closet with this movie in mind. They ended up sitting on my bed. ::facepalm::
But the movie did not break me into as many tiny little pieces as I thought it might. There were a few places where I was '...eh?' (mostly the timeline screwery and the pacing of "Over the Moon"), but on the whole, v. lovely movie.
Worst breaking honor goes to both the end of "Without You" ('cause, well, Angel inna hospital, OW) and also "Goodbye Love." You STUPID STUPID PEOPLE picking a fight in a cemetery, really, what the--
::ahem:: Sorry, character bleed got the better of me there.

So we got out of there around 5:30... and promptly got rather lost. Like 'stopping at three different gas stations to ask for directions' lost. But we finally made it back to the interstate, and MHC, and yes. Provided Quin with quickie!tour of campus on the way back to the dorm.

So, yes. Fun times had by all, and Easy Mac had by me when I got back here (to carry on the holiday weekend's pasta theme).
