so they just left Moria...
9 Jan 2003 05:27 pm...and that's essentially the book report (ha) for the day. No profound thoughts on it.
So we're going to have to write a satire as part of our English exam, which is why we watched some of Airplane! yesterday and today. We did some brainstorming of ideas at the end of class today, I've got two really good ones, and I can't decide which would work out better.
One: FF.Net and their ban-happiness a few months back. "FanFiction .Net has clarified their policy to eliminate the posting of fan fiction. Please post only blank HTML files. Even little boxes in place of your story will be counted as fan fiction. Thank you for understanding."
...Then again, that sort of is the whole satire, isn't it? I'm not sure I could pull two paragraphs (that's the minimum) out of it.
Two: MTV has their own special variety of censors:
"What do you mean you feel naked in that skirt? It's two inches too long for this channel! Go shopping with our style expert and then come back, and maybe we'll consider giving you something, girl."
"No, no, no! You lot get along far too well to make a good showing here. Out, all of you. No, wait, first one of you tell me who casted this season. Whoever it was is shortly out of a job."
And I could probably come up with something related to their treatment of Daria, their commercial breaks, the utter lack of music videos they once actually SHOWED (oh, perish the thought)...
Maybe I shouldn't have asked in the first place. The MTV spoofage it is.
That's gonna be one fun assignment...
