Poked at IMDb to see if there was a release date for Rent movie up yet (there isn't, but I seem to remember hearing Novemberish?). And I looked at the cast list while I was there, and April's on it.

I don't know, exactly, but I'm assuming that it's going to start before the actual show does. I think Alison's in it, too? But I could be wrong about that.

In my mind, the whole concept of a Rent movie is just so wrong. The magic of the show isn't really something that can be captured on film (sorry, Mark), and adding in parts/characters who are just briefly mentioned, while nice in RPs/fic, just strikes me as obnoxious.

But that's just my opinion.

I considered the starting-before thingy as well. 'S just as valid as the flashback theory, really.
Anyway, I figure since it's mostly the original cast the Hollywood types won't get to drag it too far out of context. I can see where you're coming from, but I'll squee over the thing anyway, most likely. (And if nothing else, it should make iconning easier. XD)
