Meme 'cause I am le bored, gacked from neko_chelle:
I love looking at people's icons, but I don't always *get* them - I often wonder stuff like, "Who's that guy?" or "Where's that quote from?" but I tend not to ask, for various reasons. So come on, here are my icons. Pick one (or more!) you're curious about, and I'll try to explain it. Or at least explain what I like about it. Deal?

From top left, we have: Hitchhiker's Guide (obvious), Rent (from that one song, donchaknow), Good Omens (tack a BC on and you have that canon's year for Creation), Daria (this is the tricky one; the Morgendorffers' kitchen clock almost always says 7:30, on those occasions when it has hands), and Discworld (magic number!). I obsess, there are numbers, I go 'hey, that wouldn't be a half-bad icon...' and then I make it. Because that's what you do, when you have Photoshop.

It's a line somewhere in heavenlychaos - I think the first story (which is the only thing up on the LJ right now, Celestina's moving it over from FictionPress). And it's the Metatron, who's got to be my favorite character in that mess. Hyperactive, useless in a crisis, pretty good cook, up to date on everyone's love lives but his own... ::grins::
Anyway, the 'step away from the soup!' line is mostly related to the second and third of those character traits I mentioned. With a liberal side of the first, as is usual Met, but still.

Quote's one of my favorite lines from Moving Pictures. Was going to make an LotR-crossover-thing with said quote, but couldn't remember the name of what I wanted to look for...
And then I remembered this one episode of Daria where, for a while, five or six people are sneaking around in the bushes with flashlights. It's one of my favorite scenes from the show, really. I figured that would suit my purposes even better (mostly because I knew where to find a screencap).

discworld_rpg joke - I think Viky came up with it originally. It's short for I Am Laughing Verbally At This Joke, which I think works loads better as an acronym than LOL.
