minkhollow: view from below a copper birch at Mount Holyoke (everything is unfin)

Trying to start my English paper - truth be told, I'm fairly satisfied with the amount I got done re: school last night, but I can't really put this thing off much longer, birthday or no. Now, if I could just think of a good title...
And I think I'm getting sick. Greeeat.
Incidentally, if I do it right, my 1000th post and 2nd LJ anniversary can coincide.

From [livejournal.com profile] empress_elle:
1. If for one moment you could ask for one thing, just one physical object, what would it be and why? How would you use it?
...I am so far out of ideas on this question it’s not funny. ::copout, but a necessary one::

2. If you could go back in time and fix only one thing that was somehow totally 'wrong' with histroy, what event would that be and would you actually do it? Why, why not?
Answering the second part first: Only if I was sure that doing so wouldn’t leave things worse than they are now. This sort of thing’s tricky, after all.
As to the first part... I’mnot even sure what I’d pick. Knowing me and my long-standing obsession, though, I’d prolly want to have a go at keeping the Titanic from sinking. Doubt it’d work, though, since they were so positive it wouldn’t sink...

3. If you could meet only one fictional character, who would that be and why? What would you talk about with him/her?
Ah, one of the difficult questions... hmm.
Either Crowley or Aziraphale, I think. Either one would be a very interesting conversation. If the latter, definite slant toward the book end of things; if the former... probably a little bit of everything. And I’d have to ask why AOL, and whether he’s got any special interest in Cincinnati. (That’s one of my pet theories.)

4. It's the future! You're graduating from Mount Holyoke! What are you going to do now?
Possibly teaching English somewhere (high school-ish level) - someone’s got to make sure kids who grow up on the Internet know how to use the actual words, after all. XD If not that, then editing somewhere. Next best thing to being paid to sit and write all day would be being paid to sit and read all day.

5. Optimism v. Pessimism or Idealism? Which one and why?
Optimism, probably. Or Sarcasm, if that’s an option - I’m really somewhere between all three, with less of the idealistic than the other two.

From [livejournal.com profile] falxumbra:
1. If you could be anywhere but Mount Holyoke, where would you be?
England. Or possibly Australia. Or, if it stood a chance of being feasible, Ankh-Morpork! (At least long enough to visit. I just love how it sounds like the coolest place ever, despite the smell, and the Shades, and the sausages-inna-bun, and all that.)

2. Lord Vetinari and Death want you to settle an argument; they both have equal claim to an absolutely adorable puppy, but only one of them can have it. Which do you give it to, and why?
...Completely random question, that. I approve wholeheartedly. XD
Anyway: Vetinari. Not only will Death get it eventually anyway, but he’s more of a cat person (anthropomorphic personification, whatever).

3. If all the famous authors in the world suddenly contracted a rare and deadly disease and you only had enough medicine to cure one of them, who would you save?
...You’re evil, I hope you realize, making me choose just one like that. (Admittedly most of the ones I like are already dead, but STILL. ::dithers::)
It’s a toss-up between Terry Pratchett and Neil Gaiman, at the moment. They’re both brilliant. Very different kinds of brilliant, and Terry’s got a lot more published, but still. Not an easy choice at all.

4. Cake? ...or DEATH?
YOU HAVE REACHED THE END OF THE CAKE. (Translation: Both! XD)

5. You've just written the next great American novel. What's it called?
The title I’ve got in mind for my most-likely-to-be-novel-length plot bunny is Back Home - not the most thrilling, I know, but it works. (And Mom’s novel, if she ever gets it published, is Lucky Man.)

If anyone wants an interview, just drop a comment. It may take a bit, but you'll get questions eventually.
