some bummer news today

Our neighbor's dog got hit by a car this morning. He was chasing a squirrel.
My mom's sick cousin I mentioned about a week ago (in the middle of all the GO fangirlishness)? Mom talked to his dad yesterday. It was never directly said but from the symptoms she's heard she thinks he has AIDS. Which really, really sucks, because he's a really nice guy.

On the happier front, I'm spending tomorrow afternoon with one of my friends. Haven't seen her since around Labor Day, wherein we would've gone to the fireworks as per usual except Grandma was in the hospice then. This gathering should prove to be QUITE happier. She might come to Miami's basketball game with me and Dad.
And I have two Borders cards and one for Barnes & Noble. Not burning a hole in my pocket yet, but most definitely working on it. My book collection is about to seriously increase in Gaimanosity, as Erin put it a while back. XD
