Gacking a meme from
conuly:
1. Go to my interests.
2. Pick an interest and add it to your list.
3. Come here and tell me why.
4. If none of my interests appeals to you, come here and suggest something I should add. Tell me why.
5. Go ahead, pick another interest and ask me to explain it. Be very patient. (Since I've got such an... eclectic mix, you can ask about two or three, if you'd like. But not more than that to keep things from being insane.)

Date: 2004-05-21 07:57 pm (UTC)The due-date stickers are... I dunno, just fun. I always used to peel them off the books because a) it helped the librarians out (you've got to figure that past a certain point, one of them would be peeling 'em off), and b) I liked seeing where and when the book got checked out last. The local libraries've gone to print-out receipts, with the possible exception of the Bookmobile*, and the receipts just aren't as fun.
*Couldn't say for sure, in that regard. Haven't been on it since third grade or so.

Date: 2004-05-21 08:11 pm (UTC)Icebox cake is a dessert. It has this strange habit of turning up at big family gatherings (generally Christmas) and being devoured - a key rule to surviving family functions is that if you don't get food, you don't eat, and it goes double for icebox cake. The stuff is WONDERFUL.
Dad knows the exact details better than I do, considering he's made it before, but he's reading Small Gods right now and we certainly don't want to interrupt that. XD Basically it's whipped cream (I remember Dad actually whipping the cream for it on at least one occasion - don't know if it'd work with Cool Whip an' suchlike) and these big chocolate wafer cookie things. You keep it in the fridge, or possbily freezer, till you serve it, hence the name.

Ty Pennington: carpenter on Trading Spaces. Was, anyway. I think he's doing one of those other home-renovation shows now. Eye candy! XD
Angry Beavers: Nickelodeon cartoon from a few years back. No idea where it disappeared to, but I'd like to see it back. Fun little show.
