minkhollow: view from below a copper birch at Mount Holyoke (completely pointless!)

Okay. So. Genua New Orleans.
Mostly stayed in the French Quarter, though we did go to the art museum and take a bus tour of most of the rest of it (including a cemetery). Did the riverboat-tour thing, ate lots of seafood (some of which was spicy), walked down Bourbon Street once and then pretty much avoided except for crossing when necessary, went to Mass at the cathedral, browsed in lots of shops... fun times. Also met up with one of Mom's former students, and her parents since they were in town. More fun. Not to mention school gossip.
Coolest store hands-down is this place called Vintage 429 (I'll have to get the website from Dad). LOTS of autographs - the Pirates stuff goes in a hurry, apparently - ranging from first editions of books (signed RotK: 12 grand) to guitars to just about everything else. We got Pete Townshend's autograph and looked at most of the rest of them.
And there was a records-mostly music store with LOTS OF 45-RPM TODD RUNDGREN! (But nothing I couldn't live without, really.)
Got a feather boa - have no idea where to put it, though. Also a Hippies Use Side Door magnet, party beads, and a Magritte book (from the art museum).

Mom's gonna make me life-graph artwork! Brilliant! All that work with Quoteage! will make narrowing down the really important ones easier. While I'm on the subject, quote hunt: There's a line in Say Anything that's something like, "Don't be a guy. There are lots of guys. Be a man." I'd like to have the exact wording for this thing, if anyone's got it handy.
I think I might be posting something to the writing LJ later. Unrelated to those remaining challenges, though.
ETA: I think the campaign fire's back.
