New Orleans was... interesting. Occasionally too many mirrors for my liking, but what d'you expect when it's half the ingredients to Genua? (Discworld thing, for those of you scratching your heads.) Fuller update tomorrow, if I can manage around the kitchen-tearing-apart.
Am rereading GO and have some observations for the community at some point.
OH! People who have read Jingo, a song you will want to download/otherwise find: "You Can Call Me Al" - Paul Simon. I've loved it for years but after reading the book it's so much FUNNIER. You'll know what I mean when you hear it.

Looking forward to GO observations. The great thing about that book is that you always notice new things, no matter how many times your read it.

Somewhat, yes. We left rather than stick around for the French Quarter Festival opening, and they've got millions of other party-things, so there's that end. And if you look at the cathedral froma certain (mental) perspective it could be a Magic-Kingdom-y castle. (Though my angle on that is that the cathedral and a couple buildings nearby are Unseen University, and some other surrounding environs are Sator Square - there's even a hot-dog vendor there!)
