appointment TV, for the first time since Daria...

Turned on the Queer Eye for the Straight Guy marathon this afternoon, because it was one of those shows I always meant to check out but never got the chance, and also because Mom wanted me to take care of the wrapping paper, which wouldn't work out so well from the computer desk.
It was on for... maybe 20 seconds before I decided it's a KEEPER. Watched more TV today (between that and the Parade o' Doom coverage) than I did last year, I'll bet, and Dad actually had to kick me off. (Usually that honor's reserved for the computer.)
And the hair guy's cute. XD
ETA: New York metropolitan area, hmm? So if I go to Sarah Lawrence I could look for someone to spring them on, right?
YES. This has potential!

Yay, Queer Eye! I've only seen a few episodes, but it is Highly Entertaining. I can't decide which guy is my favorite though.

That was basically my afternoon (and evening) - sitting in the living room, follding tissue paper or stuffing wrapping stuff into the box or helping Mom with the new ornament boxes, commenting (sometimes loudly) on bits and pieces, and generally enjoying the heck out of it.

The subject line of my post says it all, really: The last thing I absolutely HAD to watch was the premiere of Is It College Yet? (noteworthy in itself for being commercial-free MTV programming, let alone the end of Daria). Trading Spaces and VH1 countdown/trivia/wossnames are only semi-appointment television. If I happen by it I'm likely stuck for hours, but otherwise I don't really care.

Queer Eye! That's the best, but so very very addictive. Kyan is lovely, but I would be so scared to let him near my bathroom. Jai is my favourite, because he's just so adorable, even if it is sometimes so unclear exactly what his purpose as 'culture expert' is.
