Hey! I'm not at a band function!

First fall Saturday in quite some time I can say that. See, I was going to go. Really. But we left Applebee's late, and got to school right when the bus was leaving, and I figured since it's the senior night show anyway I don't need to set any equipment.
On the whole I'm glad I decided to stay home. I got REALLY tired right after we got back, to the point where I was actually lying down for a while (not a serious effort at sleeping, but even so), so I rather doubt I could've handled a football game tonight. And it's sort of been raining (on and off, style of thing), so I wouldn't've been able to wear my Halloween costume - not technically allowed to, but since I don't wear full band uniform anyway... yeah.
I at least got my sunglasses out for the occasion. Some of you ought to be able to guess the costume now. XD
Really ought write one of the things I need to.

(Yep, sunglasses. And these are my really nice sunglasses too, since the costume calls for nothing less than the best. ^_^)

You could hardly wear cheapo sunglasses with that costume.

Certainly not. Foster-Grants* all the way. And the really nice leather coat, which is why I can't wear this particular costume in the rain - sadly, I am not impervious to the elements.
And I didn't have a chance to get contact lenses, but I really doubt I could poke myself in the eye long enough to get them in, so that's prolly just as well.

*i.e., really really nice sunglasses. And apparently they're renowned for being as such. All I know is Dad had a mail-order thing for 'em.

Contact lenses aren't as bad as you'd think. That particular sort is, however, horribly horribly expensive. I tried to do that costume last year, y'see. I gave up after I saw the price. (I think it was about $80...for one.)

Anyway, I'd figured it would just be for the school's Halloween dance - craptastic function it may be, it's at least a social event and there're a few people at school who'd get it - so I could just leave the sunglasses on. But if there even was a Halloween dance, I think it was supposed to be last night. ::shrugs:: Oh well.
The really sad thing is, I don't have the appropriate song to mark the occasion. Other things by the same band, yes. But not that one.

I can make the excuse in the morning - after the change from Daylight Savings Time, I'll prolly need them to see to get to first period - but otherwise, there's actually something in the handbook that says you can't wear sunglasses. As for the rest of it, I doubt we'll get an out-of-uniform day for costumes. I've got one Monday, but... I dunno.
One of these days I will own that song. Mom doesn't like it, but that's just her. I wouldn't mind owning it, and in fact need it to implement a Plot of mine.

I. It confuses me. Me=one back (spring forward fall back) but they're going forward and apparently this works out to a nineteen hour difference.
