As far as rehearsals are concerned... I think the directors ought have a Discussion, and soon (read: before two of us strangle the third). Said third director has decided blocking, memorization and scene transitions ought not overlap, so far as the cast learning them goes. Um... NO. I never would've managed the one-act I was in if I hadn't done blocking and memorization all at once. If we don't practice transitions now, they will be PERFORMED as five minutes of OOC talking. People need to know that a) they cannot laugh at each other's lines and b) they've gotta wait for the audience to stop laughing before they continue. (A has not yet been a problem, but we'll really need to work on B.)
I had to deal with Aquaman and Frank Sinatra snarking at each other, all right? If I can learn five things at once there's no reason these guys can't. Anyway, odds are they'll forget bits if they learn them separately.
