Tie removal for any guys wearing them (part of the uniform) was OK'd by the end of first period. See subject line. It rained around lunchtime, though, so some of the sodding humiditiy's out of the air at least.
GO was returned and has been handed off to the next on the waiting list*; positive reviews so far. The poor book's all beat up. Eh, well-traveled, certainly (I bought it in Austin last summer).
Anyway. IALVATJ is my new favorite net-speak abbreviation.
And for those keeping score at home, this is the Victorian subtext!kidlit author guy. [livejournal.com profile] kimmielynn - remember the "nature walk" discussions in English last year? Be glad we weren't reading one of these, they'd've been at least ten times worse. XD
Daegaer! How did you find out about these things in the first place?

*Such as it exists in my head, anyway.

I bought Fix Bay'nets! at a college booksale, purely because of its cheesy imperialist cover (heroic British soldier facing down Treacherous non-English guy - plus the 'F' and the 'B' had their downstrokes pictured as bayonets). It languished unread till last weekend when I thought 'man, I could go for some cheese', and the rest is homoerotic history!
