Have now seen all of Ferris Bueller's Day Off. (I'd seen the beginning and the end before but for some reason missed the middle.) The car... well. It's like the Bentley, except not. For several reasons that I should hope are obvious. On the not front, anyway.
I'll just stop wittering now and hope all the blackout-affected people are all right. And that I won't be joinig their ranks. I think I'm a bit too far south of Lake Erie to really be affected, but with this sort of thing you just never know.
Mom's going to visit my sister tomorrow (they've got a house now, by the way, did I ever mention that bit?), except the flight's insanely early so she's essentially leaving tonight. So. Interesting times to be had by all, I guess.
(I never mentioned, but according to one of the Apocalypse tabloids I saw over vacation, the world's supposed to end tomorrow. Let's all hope they don't have it right for once, right? XD)
OSX update: Is still strange. Have not hunted for documents yet. Mom suggested we backtrack to OS9 when we want those programs - am wondering if that is in fact possible. (I mean, it oughta be, but still.) DLed iTunes shiny-music-store version but haven't tried it out yet.

you're just now seeing ferris bueller? man, i damn near grew up on that movie, among the other killer movies that popped out of the 80s. when i was eleven, i sat down in front of the computer for three days straight and wrote out the entire script in a notebook.

i would love to see someone beat that.

Whenever I get the question, "What is your favorite movie?"... I always put down Ferris Bueller's Day Off as my automatic response. I grew up on it and it's the one movie I can watch a million times and not get tired of it.

Also, when I was little I always refered to the Beatles' "Twist and Shout" as the Ferris Bueller song.

Ferris Bueller! I adore that movie. I finally convinced Kelsey and Alexa to watch it with me about a month ago, which made me Very Happy.

I love Matthew Broderick.
