ETA: So I've got this book flyer thingy in front of me and one of the books on is called The Beggar Queen. It's not Discworld but that's the only thing I can think of in relation. Strange, the way my mind works.

Well, that's not the thing as such. Just Mom told me to go to bed around 10, I think? and there's no way I'd do so then. It's still SUMMER.
Ah yes, silly band camp. I'd be there now myself except they decided to go away from school this year, and I was on the way home from Florida when they started.

Of course it is! But "silly" is, alas, lacking in the descriptive department when it comes to the band members.
This is the first time the band's gone away since my freshman year. And I didn't go that year because vacation involved plane tickets and we'd bought them by the time we found out when band camp was. The last two years we did it at school. I think I can say the food was a major improvement, but having never been to an away band camp, I can't say that with certainty. From everything I've heard it's a safe bet, though.

Agreed on the fact that 'silly' is definitely lacking. Definitely. I'm not sure there can be just one adjective for band members, save maybe 'varying.'

It's an all-day thing (as in if we were at school this year, my parents would just now be picking me up. On a good day). So we get lunch, dinner, and the admonition to eat breakfast before leaving home.
...Well, "effing INSANE" works for most of the band members I know. XD

Found you because you're the only person to list my favorite carpe_librum interest, carpe-the-whole-damn-library (which begs the question, as my memory sucks: did you invent it, did I, or did we think of it independently?). Anyhow, The Beggar Queen -- would that be the Lloyd Alexander one? Because it's really good, albeit the third in a trilogy. Have been meaning to reread those....
