never just an ordinary girl
16 Feb 2012 02:24 pmThere's an interview meme going around, and I got some questions from
ceitfianna:
1-Favorite thing that you're watching or listening to numerous times at the moment?
You Are a Tourist, Death Cab for Cutie. It's in the music mix at work, and I fell hard for it, got it off iTunes and so far haven't been able to listen to it just once before moving on to another song. I'm not sure what grabbed me so hard, but oh boy has it.
2-What helps you to wake up in the morning?
In a very practical sense, an alarm and sunlight (if it's cloudy out, I assume it's much earlier than it is).
3-You can only choose three books for a year, which three and why?
Villains By Necessity, Soul Music and Dirk Gently's Holistic Detective Agency. The first two because I love them to pieces and the last because it's an excellent de-stresser; I have to focus on the plot so much that it pulls me out of whatever's annoying me.
4-Current favorite RP character and why?
It's a toss-up between Claudia and Rebecca. Claud's an extremely easy headvoice for me, partly because I see a lot of myself in her (both good and bad), and Rebecca brings the awesome (I want to be half that practical when I grow up).
5-Dream job and why?
I want to write for a living, if I can pull it off. I love writing and sharing it with people.
6-If you could see something you've created be produced, what would it be and how would you like to see it realized?
One Day I will finish my novels. Three of 'em in the same universe; I'm about two-thirds of the way through the first and have bits of the second written out.
7-If you could live anywhere, where would it be and why?
Hartford, no question, not least because
quinby is there. Also because I really liked New England when I was there for college, and when I went up for a visit last year, I felt more at home than I have in ages.
If you want to play, I can't guarantee I'll be quick to produce questions (that's always my downfall on this type), but:
Comment to this post, and I will list seven things I want you to talk about. They might make sense or they might be totally random.
Then post that list, with your commentary, to your journal. Other people can get lists from you, and the meme merrily perpetuates itself.

Date: 2012-02-18 03:05 am (UTC)2. I'm going to go on a tangent here: I don't really think Katniss is that strong of a character. She does what she does because she goes with the flow, not because she sets out to do one thing or another. There's not much that she actually decides for herself and does. It's all... the next step in what is set out for her. Hell, even -Ender- makes more choices for himself and he's pretty damned manipulated.
3. I’d be a hero,
and I would scale a tower
to save a hot-house flower,
and carry her away.
But standing guard
would be a beast.
I’d somehow overwhelm it.
I’d get the girl.
I’d take a breath,
and I’d remove my helmet.
We’d stand and stare.
We’d speak of love.
We’d feel the stars ascending.
We’d share a kiss.
I’d find my destiny.
I’d have a hero’s ending.
A perfect happy ending.
4. Orion or Remus, I think. It depends on if you app someone. Or if I say 'fuck it' and app Peter anyway.
5. Safe and Sound by Taylor Swift.
6. It's all a rebirth thing. Going through the fire and pain and destruction and coming out the other side, sometimes weaker but still alive.
7. I'm currently going through The Help, which is awesome, but the last one I read before that was Throne of Fire (the Egypt series). Much better than the first one.
