it: ::is another script day!::
me: ::sleeps till about noon, then lurches about for brunch::
brunch: ::is semi-lackluster::
me: woe. ::finishes bacon, anyway::
and on it goes. )
So yeah. That's pretty much my day.

Today's game is called 'I'm blowing off gym in order to get a midterm done by noon tomorrow.' (It is not called 'I'm blowing off both of those for spa night,' even though that was suggested. Nor is it called 'I'm blowing off both of those for Nano.')
Today's game is also called 'So that zombie lurch? Totally got a mention in the school paper.' A small one, and I wasn't directly involved, but still.
Tonight's game might be called 'Nano with a side of putting songs back on Hex.'
minkhollow: view from below a copper birch at Mount Holyoke (send me an angel)
But more on that in another post.
For now: I find myself unconcerned with whether I finish Nano. I think it's mostly because I know I can, having done it once, so it's just... a thing to do.
Also, this may be one of my favorite things I've written. have I mentioned lately I love this game? 'cause I do. So much.
minkhollow: view from below a copper birch at Mount Holyoke (otp part 2)
In conclusion: DJing is fun, I may not win Nano this year due to circumstances beyond my control but that's okay, the Halloween plot idea for Milliways is giving me some lovely ideas, and witty banter for the win.
Note to self: Directions to dorm.
minkhollow: (but remember: i'm aquaman!)
Computer people will call me when Hex is done. I... am rather hoping that's damn soon. This computer-lab thing wears thin after a bit.
Is Wednesday seriously November? Crivens.
My LJ is now entirely tagged up, so I can go change some of the tag names. XD
On the dock: Reading, DJ fun tonight, one paper (noon Friday), Nano, probable company over the weekend for the WIN, two paper (class Wednesday).
minkhollow: Steven Banks: Elvis gotta write a speech now (elvis... gotta write a speech now)
I have: Finished Thud (holy crap YAY), broken through my writer's block, written a page or so of the Victorian Lit paper, and tagged the vast majority of my old LJ entries.
I need to: Finish the paper by Monday, do class reading for Monday (and beyond?), call the computer store and see whether 'only open for check-ins' means 'no, we won't tell you the state of the repairs' (it does), and type what I wrote last night.
I am considering: RPage (not that this is news), what to do re: Nano if Hex is still in Northampton, and adding a few more tags to the mix. Some of the existing ones also need renaming.

Dear LJ: Advertising LJ Talk with 'Instant Messaging. Instant Drama'? Perhaps not so much a good idea. (Though the GIF of Frank flailing at a keyboard and somehow consistently hitting 'pants' is entertaining, I'll give you that.)

In other news, [livejournal.com profile] ivory_ivory is once again open for business. Friends-only, as last time; there's a post there to comment on, or you can do so here.

As My Laptop Lay Dying: You know what? There's no pattern to what's making Hex crash. Other than it IS, and I'm tired of said. My original plan of limping through this week and taking it in beginning of next... prolly won't work out, at this rate.
I'd much appreciate it if one of my Nano characters for this year could just step out of my head and prod Hex into behaving, but that's unlikely. Need the universe reinstalled as is, apparently.
In other news, not having work tonight wins, as does finishing week-old slowtimes (seven pages, WTF?). All this homework... does not so much win, but I'm making progress.
minkhollow: (leap of faith)
As My Laptop Lay Dying: Crashed again last night. I think it's a bit connected to how long at once I'm using it. Thought to listen for odd noises before I shut it off; it sounded... kinda like the high-tech equivalent of a broken record.
This is gonna make paper-writing interesting.
In other news, break for great sleeping late and the win. Piles of homework for decidedly less of a win, but there you have it; I'll survive. Also, there will be attempts at Nano plotting.

Point ye fifth: If Hex cooperates, I think I'm in for Nano again this year. This means I should hie over to the website, I guess. XD
ETA: So I went, and... hey 04-05 Renegades? The Pit's famous. XD
minkhollow: view from below a copper birch at Mount Holyoke (still life mirrors)
...I think I got the lead-up to the fireworks accurate, in le novel, but I'm trying to decide whether I did the show itself any justice. Might've fallen short, but then, the thing hits four out of five senses... so. (Visual aids may follow if camera and Hex cooperate.)
Either way, I feel like I've properly ended the summer for the first time in a while.
minkhollow: view from below a copper birch at Mount Holyoke (incendiary wit)
You know what's cool? Rereading some of your old Nano and finding it doesn't suck. That's cool.
(To that end, I'm doing some stuff with [livejournal.com profile] ivory_ivory again.)
Also: I love this game, rather a lot.
minkhollow: view from below a copper birch at Mount Holyoke (incendiary wit)
I now have a stack of RenCon posters, courtesy of [livejournal.com profile] trinora. To that end: RenCon! Saturday! Noon to six! Second floor of Skinner! (You won't be able to miss it, it'll be the building with the pirate flag on.) Do come, if you're in the area. D&D, DDR, Blank White Cards, other fun times.
Financial aid thinger handed off to parents, as they know the rest of that stuff.
Possibly I will get to write about Rent for next history paper, if I can decide what to focus on. That? Wins, rather.
If I want to take Writing the Novella, I need to send in a writing sample. Prolly gonna brush up a chunk of Nano, as that's the longest non-fic thing I've got.
minkhollow: view from below a copper birch at Mount Holyoke (and mark's like wtf mate?)
I don't want to think about classes for next semester. But I think I've figured something out, far as that goes. Possibly.
On that note, a chalkboard ledge in CW totally attacked me today, so now my hand is going all OW every now and again. I think that, coupled with the general lack of excitement, pretty much settles the Nano debate. Still, if I don't write something, I may go crazy; considering hijacking [livejournal.com profile] fanfic100's table for my own nefarious purposes. Possibly even twice!
Also, it is November, and there is not movie. Is it Thanksgiving yet?
minkhollow: view from below a copper birch at Mount Holyoke (i won't worry my life away)
I should perhaps not find this as funny as I do. But it's bloody hilarious.
I wish I knew what I was writing for the next CW thing. Or whether I still want to attempt Nano this year.
And fortunately, it's supposed to be fairly warm and v. sunny tomorrow. I will not freeze to death in my Halloween endeavors!
minkhollow: view from below a copper birch at Mount Holyoke (smell them!)
Plotting and scheming of both sorts continues apace.
School may be trying to kill me again; doing my best to avoid that happening, as it would be messy.
CD-sending fun also continues apace, though I need both more mailing envelopes and more addresses.
I need to do laundry, but after last weekend, I'm not trying that on a Sunday again. I need to figure out fine detail for my Halloween costume. I need to figure out what the hell I'm writing for my CW assignment, and whether I'm even bothering with Nano this year.

*The good news is, the Giant Scary Bugs are not silverfish. The bad news is, they still have too many legs to be allowed.
*Dear Intel, did you THINK about how people might interpret 'an incredible gaming experience in your lap' before you put that phrase in an advertisement? Love, a Yahoo frequenter.
*Still not king sure about Nano, but leaning toward yes.
*Also? I love this game.
minkhollow: view from below a copper birch at Mount Holyoke (another postcard)
So. Nanowrimo.
I'm not sure whether I want to do it again, largely because I don't really have anything in mind - or maybe I've got too much in mind. One of those, anyway. Also, school is crazy, though that didn't stop me last year. (Also also, this year there's Obsessive Geek sort of squeeflail to take into account.)
Have reactivated my nano account, in any case. May post novel blatherings on [livejournal.com profile] ivory_ivory later.
minkhollow: (holy wood magic)
If you can get today's Name That Tune, then you know what the weather here's like; hopefully I'll still be able to sleep.
Shall try to print out the Nano, or at least the beginning of it, sometime in the next few days. The key here is free printing in the dorm computer lab. XD
in which Jill tries to revive the orphan interests meme )
minkhollow: (happy hogswatch!)
Re-GIP, as it's close enough to Christmas (Hogswatch?) for my comfort on the matter. Also because I like the icon enough to use it again.
Stomach is being exceedingly blah at the moment. Am going to type up Phil thing and then perhaps sort out the idea I've got for next year's Nano (yes, already)... though I'm starting to wonder if I won't write it up sooner than next November. The thing wants OUT.
