[The scene: Hot Topic, the other night. Quinn and I went to the mall for dinner and to decompress a little, and decided to go looking for cosplay pieces for the summer. We find a good bit and check out. My shirt, as this is relevant to the discussion, is a Hitchhiker's Guide shirt Woot had up last summer.]

Guy 1: You know what's never worked outside of the book format? Hitchhiker's Guide.
me: I liked the movie for what it was!
Guy 1: I hated it!
[The three of us go back and forth on the merits and drawbacks of the movie for a while. Highlights include: Why is the only black guy in the thing the alien (him); why didn't they even try with Zaphod's second head (me); and all-around 'why can no one cast Trillian right' (he didn't like Zooey Deschanel; I think she's a major improvement over the blonde woman in the TV show).]
Guy 2: You guys spend way too much time thinking about this stuff.
Quinn: We just spent like 20 minutes looking for cosplay pieces based on a TV show.
Guy 1: What show?
us, in unison: Warehouse 13.
Guy 2: So you're... what, Claudia?
me: Yep!
Guy 2: You need a haircut.
me: Oh, I know, I'm a foot past needing one anyway.
Quinn: I'm going as Joshua!
Guys: ...
Quinn: Claudia's brother?
Guy 2: ...*Why?* I mean, why not the lady who runs the B&B and... with the auras?
Quinn: I am *not* Leena. My second choice would be Helena, but...
Guy 2: But then you could be a G with a grappler!
[The actual answer, for the record, is that Joshua is awesome! Also we slip into character so easily that it kinda needs to be him.]

Everyone still treats Claudia like a kid, never mind that her brother's been gone for two whole years.
