Subtext! Subtext!

NO, I'm NOT tired of the Legolas/Gimli subtext yet. Why do you ask? XD
I stopped in the middle of the Helm's Deep stuff three different times yesterday. Will definitely be going back to read it, but not now. There is something in some way profoundly important about the fact that Gimli's orc count stopped at 42. Not sure what yet, but there's just got to be!
Not far into the "meanwhile, back with Frodo and Sam..." part.
And in regards to Merry and Pippin, the following line does more for subtext than anything before it, including Fellowship:
"But maybe, if we had not arrived, you would already have been keeping one another company again."
(Of course, that could just be me. But I doubt it. I know *lots* of people who are strange like that!)
Seriously denying the fact that I'll be taking exams starting Wednesday. Am agreeing with Sidra that the Catholic schools, at least in Ohio, conspired to put math first thing in the morning on the first day. God (or whoever) help us all.
Perhaps later I'll do fic recs (stealing an idea from Morgan there). Or maybe I'll do something sensible and study for my maths quiz tomorrow... waitaminnit, me be sensible?
Naaah.
