I think I figured out why TextEdit was munching things, too. Both times, I was working on the story that got eaten in one file, and saving up the day's word count in another. So either I need to use a different word processor (which has worked so far), or work all on one story before I attempt the day's word count.

lgbtfest... and gave myself a plot bunny on the first try. XD But that's all right; it should be fun to work on.
