The parents think it'd be a good idea, and at least financially speaking, they're probably right (in terms of having longer till I start on the loans). In other respects, though...
Yes, I'm comfortable with academia, but that might be a good reason to at least take a year off, actually. Force myself out of my comfort zone a bit. It's a bit late for me to GRE it up, for such places as want scores - and frankly, the idea of more bloody standardised testing chafes. I'm not planning on anything that'd require grad school of me, at least not immediately. And really, I don't know if I want to, right away.
So what I'm after is input; I know some of y'all dove right in to grad school, and some of you want to get to it, and some of you haven't bothered. Basically, if I get some perspectives that aren't parental prodding (I know they mean well, but sheesh), I can make an informed decision and actually act on it.
