Homework is actually DONE.* Gasp, shock, amazement.
Am... ::checks:: about halfway through Hogfather. Continues to be an odd book, but I've got to say, Hex oughta be good for the quoteage.

You know what I need to do? I need to put a bunch of Van Morrison songs on one CD, just because I really really like them. Mom will, of course, demand a copy, but that's all right.

*Unless you count what I should be doing on the kid's letter for physio and research on the Religion Project of DOOM... but trouble me not with this petty information.

notes of a random nature

I am one of three people in my (graduating) class who survived the first round of National Merit cuts.* Yay! The other two are in the tie-up for valedictorian and really no surprise to anyone, I wouldn't think. Was a little nervous because all I was told was the principal wanted to see me, and just about everyone else in the office was being questioned re: two (two!) broken windows today.
Oh, and speaking of the principal, she's retiring after this year's over. And she got MARRIED Sunday. She said she's not doing trouble stuff anymore, which is good news for me. I'd say it's bad news for all the guys who were up there re: the windows, but I went to school with a couple of them and they're bad news as it is.
My sister and her husband are going to buy a house. And as of today, they own their car, ickle not-really-five-seater Civic that it is. (I should know. I got squished in the back middle for a week and a half last summer. But I got to buy Good Omens while out there, so it's all good. XD) So perhaps spare house-buying good karma should go their way.
You know, one of these days I ought to add her to my friendslist. Speaking of which, it gained yet another member just now - Morgan, don't panic, it's not another RPG person.** This one (cenire) is due to random occurence of Good Omens and Cirque du Soleil and other cool things on her interests list. (Helped that the post I noticed concerned afrai and banana daquiris. Oddly enough, she doesn't seem to know the squicky end of the story.)
Should write something. Really, I should. Even if it's not the War/Pestilence or the Dariafic sequel-thing or the alien!Jesus story or any of these random things I've been saying I'm writing. This, of course, means I'll read more of Hogfather when I finally do get off the 'puter.
Another thing of note re: school - I understand the maths stuff. Yaaay.

*Note for those who don't know: national Merit is a big important thing wherein colleges will give you LOTS of money if you make it to (or near) the end and want to go there. Or something like that; I'm not entirely sure myself.
**Turns out I've been doing that a lot lately. It just sorta happens, you know?
