They skip the fourth floor and the fourth door in every hospital for that reason. Also, just completely randomly, white is the colour of death and mourning, not black.
Apparently this applies to China, too. The skipping the fourth floor and white being the color of death/mourning, that is. (We learnt about it in Mandarin class.) Cultural plagiarism!
