OTP plugging, day six

Today's offering? Legolas/Gimli.
I'd say it's all afrai's fault, but it's really only her fault I noticed it. She was discussing the subject right around the time I saw Two Towers in the theater, and if she hadn't been i wouldn't've known to look for it.
And then I actually read the books. SO MUCH subtext-wot-might-as-well-be-text! It's great!
This is also the only OTP of mine where I know someone in real life who sees it.* My friend's little brother brought it up once (surprised the crap outta me, too. XD), durign an LotR-in-general discussion.
I don't know of a whole lot of fic in this regard, but since there's all those fun bits in the book that doesn't really matter. However, Thrown is a bloody brilliant example of LotR fic in general and this pairing in particular. The style's just perfect.

*I dunno, the friends I've had read GO might agree on that front, but I've never asked.
