Isn't that one stupid people and a turtle trying to cross the road for an entire chapter? In places, yes it is. The "nature walks" thing had to do with the people writing that sort of thing. The other almost-but-not-quite-on-topic discussions concerned whether Mary Shelley had any idea what she was writing, on the scientific front.
