For anyone who plays or used to play at milliways_bar and hasn't been following the back room lately: Milliways is moving to Dreamwidth!

They're using the opportunity to free up many old and retired characters for play, as well as to preserve as much of Milliways' history on Dreamwidth as possible against the possibility of LJ going kersplut.

To decide what will happen to your character, help back up the game to Dreamwidth, and to see how you'll retain control over all your content, head on over here.

Second: Hey guys, I've been podficced! You Will Move Mountains got included in the latest Awesome Ladies Podfic Anthology; podficcer's post is here (I'm the one at the bottom). It is fabulous and made me squee a lot.

I wanted to let you know that I'm loving Villains by Necessity. I think one of my favorite parts is how Robin seems to have wandered in from the wrong book and is so confused. He tries to understand but he's just not really equipped to understand his companions, which makes him a rather bad spy.

At this point, they're in the dragon's tower and just set off the dwarven traps. It's a fantastic read and I love how it riffs on things in its own way. Since some of the riffs remind me of Diana Wynne Jones in Dark Lord of Derkholm and Pratchett but never enough to pull me out. Instead it's that sense of oh that's an interesting way of doing things.

Yeah, poor Robin's really not equipped in any sense for what he's doing. I love how he grows into his own over the course of the book; the fic I keep asking for for Yuletide and will someday get is about him becoming a bard after all's said and done (since no one ever explains it).
Of course, I also love Sam, and Valerie's casual mentions of all the nasty stuff she's done as a matter of course (I don't know how I forgot the line about her brother's wedding!), and Blackmail. (I almost apped Blackmail, but Cata was squirrelly about the idea, and then I pretty much had to app Sam and three characters from the same canon seems a bit excessive.)
In conclusion, I'm glad the library came through for you and you're enjoying it!

Ooh, I would love to read that fic as I adore bards.

I'll probably do a post about it when I finish it as it's making me happy and then ask you where to find the good fic.

heh, the problem with the fic question is that I'm tooting my own horn by force. I know of two things in the fandom that I didn't write, and I got them both for different Yuletides. XD (They're both fabulous, though, so I will cheerfully link you when the time comes.)

No worries, I know that problem well. The fandoms I write for are well known but when it comes to Yuletide, I seem to be the only one interested in certain characters.

The annoying part about Milliways is that I keep seeing ads to come on over to Dreamwidth and join, join, join...but they don't have the provisions for joining yet. I only found that out after TRYING to join. (They didn't have the application process listed on the Dreamwidth comm at the time when I looked there. I ended up finding the instructions on how to join the game through, believe it or not, the Milliways Wiki.) Apparently the app process won't start until March 1.
